Jaan is a Physics PhD student at Princeton, who is excited about improving science (and your life) using machine learning. Jaan will be discussing the deep connections between modern machine learning and statistical physics during this informal talk. The talk will include: - illustrative modern machine learning techniques through the Ising model to show how they developed from statistical physics - conversation about how your research could benefit from machine learning (or vice versa) - plenty of time for discussion and questions The talk will be loosely based on Jaan's recent post and paper which can be found at:
