My research interest lies in the intersection of mathematical statistics and data science. I am particularly concerned with the statistical foundation of machine learning techniques. I have also conducted research in econometric theory with a focus on causal inference in the high-dimensional setup which naturally arises in the big data era.

I have been teaching data science related subjects for the past 6 years including statistics, probability, big data and machine learning techniques, Bayesian econometrics and time series analysis at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I am passionate about teaching and have been doing so since my Ph.D. The direct interaction with the students in the classroom is probably the most rewarding part of my job.

Prior to my academic experience, I spent a few years working in the aerospace industry, managerial consulting, and finance. I am computer programming enthusiastic and curious about any mathematical topic.
